The Kennicott’s were living the carefree life of an upper middle class family.  That was until one day when his father arrives home from work and shares the company he has worked for since he was Reese’s age has gone out of business.  Adding to the stress of being out of work for the worst time is the worst economic downturn the United States has ever faced.  It does not take long for the Kennicotts to fall behind in their bills and lose everything.

Reese Kennicott had everything he could ever want and life was good.  He worked a part time job to have extra money and to socialize.  Now he is working all the hours he can get in order to help his family get by, which isn’t much.  Reese is now dating the guy of his dreams, he along with his friends seem to be the only stable thing going for him.

Hope finally comes with a new job that will take the family across the country.  This means for Reese giving up his lifelong friends, his new boyfriend and life as he’s always known it.  The family takes with them what they can and begins on a road trip to their new life.  Along the way, they encounter several barriers and hope begins to fade.  Each day things look bleaker and the Kennicott’s begin to wonder if they are going to make it to their destination.

Excerpt:
A few days later Cruz caught Reese on his way out to the parking lot after school.  He appeared so smug and at the same time seemed so debonair as he approached Reese.  When he was close enough, he looked around, perhaps to make sure there was no one in ear shot.  There was no greeting from Cruz before he asked, Relationship troubles?

He responded, You mean Morgan?  Cruz nodded his head as if telling him duh.  Were only friends.

Oh.  Cruz shrugged, So hes not gay then?

No hes not gay.   Reese did not feel it was his place to share Morgans bisexuality.

Cruz stared at him, only perpetuating Reeses discomfort.  Youre gay though?

Yes.  Youre gay too?  He figured fair was fair.

Nodding in agreement, Cruz asked, Do you have a boyfriend?

No.  Reese was feeling as if he was being sized up added, I hear you dont either.  Cruz was silent, glancing away and yawning, appearing disinterested in the conversation.  Reese decided that hed better make his move, You want to go out sometime?

Cruz turned toward him and seemed to be thinking over his response.  Reese smiled feeling hopeful and then concerned he might be coming off as desperate.  Cruz nodded, That would be fine by me.   Then he turned to walk away without saying another word.

Jayson James - The Author

I have a horrible time when it comes to writing about myself.  It is not that I have low self-esteem, but the fact that I am not comfortable talking about myself.

For most of my life, I have been writing and sharing it with my friends.  They have repeatedly told me I needed to publish my writing and share it with the world. Now that I have, I am amazed at how many people admire it.

My interests beyond writing include reading a variety of books, watching movies and drawing.

I truly appreciate all the support and encouragement from my friends, family, and you. I am so thankful to your support!

Keep on reading! I am always interested in hearing about what people are reading, especially if it is something I have written.
Thank you for reading and letting me know what you think of my writing!

Blurb:

After meeting Terry at a motorcycle show, Gavin is sure he’s found the man of his dreams. While he’s fantasized about BDSM for years, Gavin has never had a play partner and Terry is happy to teach him. After playing together for a few months, Terry has to leave on a business trip. Terry gives Gavin the key to his apartment so Gavin can sleep in, but Gavin isn’t sure he’s ready for that level of commitment. While he likes and trusts Terry—and loves the kinky sex they have together—Gavin has to decide which he can’t give up: Terry, or his freedom. Part one was originally published as Boots and Leather by Torquere Press.

Excerpt:

Weighed down by groceries and a bulging duffle bag, I rang Terry’s doorbell.

“It’s open!” he called.

I left the bag in the entryway so he wouldn’t see it and brought the groceries to the kitchen. He was wearing jeans, an apron and nothing else, and he was sexy as hell. I wanted him to ravish me, right there, right then, but he was busily stirring and chopping and other mysterious kitchen pursuits—I’m not much of a cook.

“Don’t come into the bedroom.” I kissed his shoulder.

“Sure.” He gave my butt a quick pat before turning back to his frying pan.

Making sure he wasn’t watching, I carried the heavy bag down the hall to Terry’s bedroom and started unpacking my goodies.

I’ve known I was interested in BDSM for a long time, though I’d never had a play partner of my very own before Terry. Every now and then I’d see something in an adult store or on a website that I just had to buy, for private use or the hope that I would eventually find a top to play with. “Every now and then” adds up over the years, and soon the bag wouldn’t be big enough to hold everything.

I laid it all out on the bed so I could see everything and try to narrow down exactly what I wanted to do with Terry—or rather, have him do to me. As I pulled out each toy, I remembered the fantasy that had made me buy it.

Terry and I haven’t discussed roleplaying yet, and I was still too shy to mention it, and worried he’d think I was immature for wanting to play “let’s pretend”.

Simple was probably best. A scene that took too long to set up could use up all our energy before we’d actually played. I tossed almost everything back in the bag, except for my matching set of black leather wrist and ankle cuffs, and what had quickly become my favorite toy. It was a jockey bat; similar to a riding crop, but the leather tip was hard instead of flappy. Terry has used it in all sorts of ways—using it the way it was intended, flipping it around to hit me with the handle, striking my thighs or ass with the shaft like a cane, even holding it across the backs of my knees to pin me down.

“I’m ready,” I called.

“Me too. We’d better eat first, or we might not get around to it.”

I was restless. I wanted to play now, but I knew he was right. If we played, we probably wouldn’t leave the bed until morning, and the dinner he’d cooked would go to waste. With a final glance at the toys neatly arranged on the bed, I sauntered out to meet him.

“Are you sure you didn’t own a restaurant in a past life?” I asked, bumping him with my hip while I grabbed a plate. I thought about serving him, but we hadn’t discussed that level of D/s yet, so I only got food for myself.

“I’d go crazy in a restaurant, surrounded by people, everyone in a hurry. I couldn’t even do your job.” He was used to being his own boss; if he felt like working fourteen hours one day, he did. If he wanted to ride to the coast for the weekend, there was no one to stop him but his own deadlines.

Let’s just say floods aren’t the best places to be. If you’ve been there all you want to do is forget. I know I did. But sometimes out of the very bad we find the very good in us all. Well that’s how I tried to write my characters. Adrian & Lockie felt like family to me even if they live in a whole different country from mine. I loved being able to create the Tenderfoot Downs property. In reality I took bits and pieces from cattle stations I’ve been on here in Australia and used those as inspiration. Luckily for me the rest of the authors in the Flood portion of the Storming Love series were wonderful to work with. Everyone had something to bring to the table and were willing to help out when I was unsure of certain points in my story. I hope to be able to be a part of something like this in the future as I loved bouncing ideas about Copper Creek off of each other so that the end result runs together smoothly.

The property I created is somewhere I would absolutely love to live. I much prefer the countryside to the hustle and bustle of the city, even if it meant I had to put up with a flood every now and again. Would you? I mean if given the choice between the craziness of a city—any city—and the country life where it’s prone to flooding, which would you choose? I know which would be mine. I actually live on the outskirts of a small city, and I’m surrounded by farmland, though more produce than stock. I just know I could never go back to living the city life. I prefer my little piece of Australian heaven.

Did say that I have the tendency to ramble, so on that note I want to thank each and every one of you who bought our books, I hope you enjoyed them as much as we enjoyed writing them. I got asked if this is the end of the guys from Tenderfoot Downs and I had to honestly say “I don’t know.” I hadn’t at the time planned on writing any more to their story, but as one fan said: never say never. So now when I’m asked I say it’s a possibility, I’ll just have to wait to see if the other characters decide to take up residence in my head and demand that their stories be told.

About the authors:

NJ Nielsen: NJ needs to write like she needs to breathe. It’s an addiction that she never intends to find a cure for. When you don’t find NJ arguing with Vlad, her muse or writing about the wonderful men in her stories, you’ll find her reading work by other authors she greatly admires. NJ lives in the SE of Qld, Australia with her family who all encourage her writing career even if she does occasionally call them by her character’s names. NJ thinks that anyone taking the time to read her stuff is totally awesome.

Jenn Dease: Jenn Dease is a Chef with a reading and writing addiction.  The six bookcases in her bedroom are proof of this.   She was born and raised in Pittsburgh with one of those families that have four generations in a four block radius.   The Redheads, or her sisters, are the best things in her life. When they want to be.

Jambrea Jo Jones: Jambrea wanted to be the youngest romance author published, but life impeded the dreams. She put her writing aside and went to college briefly, then enlisted in the Air Force. After serving in the military, she returned home to Indiana to start her family. A few years later, she discovered yahoo groups and book reviews. There was no turning back. She was bit by the writing bug.

She enjoys spending time with her son when not writing and loves to receive reader feedback. She's addicted to the internet so feel free to email her anytime.

AC Katt: She lives in New Mexico with her husband and new cat who, just as she does loves paper and words. She got a late start to her writing career but is now in a writing frenzy. Go figure!

Pelaam: Living in clean, green New Zealand Pelaam is a multi-published author of m/m romance and erotica. She's loved writing since childhood and to become an author is a cherished dream come true. She grew up reading fairy tales and watching science fiction, horror and fantasy. When not writing she can be found indulging in her other passions of cookery and wine appreciation.

Cherie Noel: Cherie’s been in love with words since before she drew breath, and doesn’t see that ever changing. She write stories, full stop. Sometimes there’s music with them, sometimes they’re poems, and lately, to her great delight, a plethora of M/M fiction and erotic romance. Yum. Smexy man to the second…or third power…now that’s the kinda math Cherie can get behind!!

The hair curls or frizzes as it will, the eyes are green and tend to look in two different directions—no, really—and the rest is subject to change. You know the guy who didn’t know if he was a butterfly dreaming he was a man or a man dreaming he was a butterfly? Yeah, that’s Cherie, but substitute drag queen for butterfly and wacky, wild ex-Army chick for man.

Blurb: When RJ meets Chaos, a private party stripper, it's gloves (and everything else) off as they butt heads and other body parts on their way to becoming more than just a one-night stand.

Excerpt:

The doorbell rang, nearly unheard over the music and laughter in the living room. RJ knew who it was; his gift to his sister had arrived. He made his way to the door to let the stripper inside.

Over six feet of brawny muscle straining at the seams of a tight pseudo-cop uniform waited on the other side of the screen door. Mirrored sunglasses hid his eyes, but not the sharp line of his jaw or the sexy scruff dusting his cheeks.

For the first time in his life, RJ was struck dumb. He stared at the man, letting his eyes travel slowly over the wide chest, narrow waist, and long, long legs. There was a bulge just below the buckle of the black leather belt that was worthy of some very deep contemplation.

The man's voice was as sensuous as liquid velvet. "I'm from Strip-O-Grams. I'm here for Paula's bachelorette party. Is this the right address?" The man cocked one sleek eyebrow, then used one finger to slide his sunglasses down a bit. He peered at RJ from over the rims. Dark brown. His eyes were dark brown, deep and liquid.

RJ's face went red and his mouth dry. He was embarrassed to be caught ogling the man like an all-you-could-eat-buffet, and even more to his chagrin, his dick wasn't embarrassed about it at all. It filled, pressing against the thin material of his slacks. Unless he cupped himself, there was no way to hide his erection.

The stripper noticed, and a brief flicker of heat scalded his gaze which only made RJ's problem worse.

The man's voice was sensual and deep, almost sex for the ears, and RJ's cock heard it loud and clear. "Uh, yeah. This is it. I'm Paula's brother, RJ."

"Officer Chaos."

Chaos is a perfect name, my man, because you are wreaking havoc with my self-control right now. I want to climb you like a ladder, rung by perfect rung, RJ thought, chewing on the inside of his cheek. He'd asked for a stripper dressed as a cop -- a little private dig at Steven's position on the city council -- but he'd never envisioned how drop-dead sexy the costume would be, or the man who filled it so admirably.
