INTERVIEW: TM Smith plus #giveaway! #mmromance

Hello TM and welcome to The Hat Party <3 Thank you so much for subjecting yourself to the RANDOMNESS that is a Raine O'Tierney interview! Please don your best hat, and let's get started!

What important thing would you give up in order to continue writing?
Reviewing and blogging. As much as I love to read and then share my thoughts on that story, if I had to cut something out of my life because there aren’t enough hours in the day, reviewing would be the first thing to go.

What is your favorite literary quote?
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr. Seuss

Describe your perfect lazy day.
Sitting in my pj’s with a cup of coffee or a mimosa while I laze around on the couch reading or catching up on my DVR. Just a little chill to the air so I can snuggle down into the cushions and wrap a blanket over my legs.

You have 200 words—Make. Me. Swoon. (PLEASE!)
Okay, this is a little snippet of a scene I’ve already written for the next book in the Opposites series, Maddness (18+ only children!)

“Close the door.” Tanis whispered, not relinquishing his hold on Raven or lifting his lips off of his husband’s skin. Raven pulled the door shut and was immediately spun around, wincing when his back slammed against the wall, then gasping when Tanis grabbed his already rock hard cock and squeezed.

“I want you, right here, right now.” Tanis whispered in his ear, his hot breath causing Raven’s eyes to roll back in his head before the implication of the words caught up with his sex idled brain.

“No!” Raven gasped, trying in vain to shove Tanis off him. “Not right here, Apollo will hear us.”

Tanis silenced him with a blistering kiss as he ran the tips of his fingers under the waist of Raven’s sleep pants, before breaking the seal of their lips and dropping to his knees taking Raven’s pants to the floor. Before Raven could protest further, he was engulfed in the wet heat of Tanis’s mouth. He brought his fist up to his mouth, biting down on his knuckles to stop from crying out or moaning as Tanis set up a relentless and very effective rhythm, bringing Raven to the point of orgasm within seconds.

If someone challenged you to a water-gun fight *to the death* how would you fare?
I’d probably be dead, I don’t have the best aim.

Do you know any cool party tricks and are you brave enough to do them at parties?
Hell no! I’m the comic relief at parties, not the trickster.

Give a shout-out to another author who may, or may not, know how much you appreciate them.
Sandrine Gasq-Dion, I just adore her! Not only is she an amazing author, but she is a good friend as well. Ask her a question, she’ll not only answer it but she will answer it honestly.

What is the hardest part of writing?
For me it’s staying focused and allotting enough time for writing. I have a full time job, 3 kids and a house to keep up. So writing is not always my top priority. And then there are times I’m writing and something or someone explodes and the day is shot.

Do you dance in the rain?
I love this question! I haven’t since I was younger but now that you’ve planted the seed, I will the next time it rains and the air is a bit warmer. Right now in Texas we are having freezing rain and snow, not even taking my butt out to prance around in that mess.

And finally, you’ve just inherited a dachshund farm. What do you do now?
Immediately sell it to my daughter for $1… she loves dachshunds.

In the year 2081 our planet survived global warming of an apocalyptic scale. When the dust settled and the water receded Dr. Anthony Smith, one of only a few hundred survivors of GWI, started society anew. Having come to the conclusion that injudicious breeding played a huge role in the destruction of Earth as we knew it in the twenty first century, he worked closely with other survivors to isolate the Dionysus gene. This gene has the ability to manipulate human DNA to ensure that all male children be born gay, and all female children be born lesbians. A new society is born.

In the year 2300 Dr. Smith’s descendants are ushering in the twenty fourth century having maintained control of the government that still rules society. Twins Aiya and Aiyan are preparing to meet their matches and take control of House Gaeland, the current ruling House. But not everything is as it seems.

Love is Love.. it knows no gender and doesn’t conform to restrictions and boundaries. Aiyan has found his soul mate in Kaden, the prince of House Devi that he is matched with and eventually marries. But when the person Aiya falls in love with tests the boundaries put in place after GWI, all hell breaks loose. And in the midst of one secret unraveling, another will emerge. There is a growing anomaly that threatens to destroy over two hundred years of progression. This anomaly is known as Opposites.

*WARNING* Opposites is an Adult Dystopian majorly M/M series that contains explicit sexual content and relationships between gay, lesbian and straight couples.*

Standing outside the door to the room Kaden barely occupied, Aiyan placed his hands on either side of him planting him against the wall. He stared at Kaden for several moments before he smiled, and kissed him. Kaden pulled back and shot a warning glare at him.

“You should go.” Kaden whispered breathlessly. “Goodnight Aiyan.”

Aiyan grinned that crooked smile and planted a kiss on his neck and whispered,  “Go where, here?” He moved up and nipped Kaden’s ear lobe with his teeth. “Or here?” he asked. Kaden was beginning to slide down the wall as his legs turned to jelly.

Aiyan stood back laughing, his eyes glistened and he smiled. “Goodnight Kaden, I love you.” Placing a quick peck on his lips, he turned to go.

“And I you.” Kaden said and closed the door behind him before sinking to the floor, no longer able to support himself. He ran the tips of his fingers across his still tingling lips, and smiled.

*What inspired you to write Opposites?

Societies narrow minded view on LGBT relationships at the time I started writing. We were in the middle of DOMA at the time and my thoughts were, “why do we, the heterosexual population, seem to think it is okay for us to love and live, but not the LGBT population?” “in what kind of world do I live in that people think it is okay to hate, discriminate and violate another human being because of the person they choose to love?” So I set out to write a story that flipped that narrow minded view and broached the scenario, what if we as straight people were the outkasts in society? What if to be gay or lesbian were the norm, what then assholes? What then?!
*Is there anything special you’d like us to know about it?
I’m currently working on my first novel outside of the world of Opposites. The working title is ‘Gay for Pay’ and it’s about a straight guy that dives head first into the world of gay porn, and the bi-sexual guy that falls for him.

*What are your hopes for this title?

That it be queued on everyones e-reader!

At 42 years young, she's decided to enter the next phase of her life by adding the title of "author" to her list of accomplishments that includes single mom of three disturbingly outspoken and decidedly different kids, one of which is Autistic.
