INTERVIEW: Amanda C. Stone plus #Giveaway! #MMRomance #Humor

Today we're talking to one of my favorite people, Miss Amanda C. Stone! <3

Hello Amanda and welcome to The Hat Party! <3 Thank you so much for subjecting yourself to the RANDOMNESS that is a Raine O'Tierney interview! Please don your best hat, and let's get started!

In honor of it being massively cold, I’ve got on my warmest hat. And earwarmer. And scarf. Did you know it’s colder than MARS here?!

You’ve been given the opportunity to go back in time and give your 13-year-old self a message. What do you say?

You know those kind of awkward things you’re feeling right now? They’re completely ok to have. If you tell people, some of them will be alright with it. Sadly some won’t. If you don’t tell anyone for a long time, like you’re thinking of waiting right now, you have a pretty amazing life ahead of you. It’s not always going to be sunshine and rainbows. But a decent one that is definitely worth having.

Also, don’t listen to the people that get down on you about your writing. They’re going to say some things that are super hurtful in a few years. Ignore them. Keep writing. Your writing is worth reading, you’re just showing the wrong people.

So, you were editing along and zombies attack. And they are on fire! What do you do?

OH MY GOSH! RAINE! LOOK OUT! THERE’S ZOMBIES ATTACKING! AND THEY’RE ON FIRE! *flails around like a crazy person*

Describe yourself using song lyrics.

Wow that’s really hard. Something silly, but a little melancholy and introverted. Does that song exist?

You have 200 words—Make. Me. Swoon. (PLEASE!)

200 words? Ok, here goes *shakes hands out*
Joe skimmed his nose along the column of Bob’s throat. They were both panting as they held each other. One more pass up over Bob’s Adam’s apple, Joe lifted his head away. Bob’s breath gusted out across his cheek as they stared at each other.
“Don’t make me wait any longer Joe. Kiss me dammit.”
Joe lifted one corner of his mouth in a half smile, before ducking his head and sucking up a mark on Bob’s throat. He pulled Bob close so their entire bodies touched. Being this close to Bob never failed to be the best part of Joe’s day.
Bob moaned wantonly as Joe tongue lashed the skin in his mouth. He would kiss Bob when he was good and ready, not a moment sooner. However, he was quickly getting to the point of skipping the kiss altogether.
With a final lap, Joe moved his mouth up to Bob’s. He kept their lips a breath apart as the both panted. When Joe saw desperation in Bob’s eyes he finally closed the distance.
The first kiss after being apart all day long was always the best kiss of the day.

What makes you inexplicably happy?

Spending time with my husband and little one. Just the three of us.

What is your biggest, most-wild writing dream? (Nothing is too outlandish!)

Getting successful enough as a writer to bank roll my shoe habit.

What is your favorite literary quote?

I actually don’t have one. When I was in middle school and high school I DEVOURED quotes and quote books. I would find the perfect quote to go with any situation. Now I’ve kinda gotten to the point where everyone already knows all of the good quotes. So I use my own words to make good quotes. When I come up with an amazing literary one I’ll be sure to let you know. Maybe in 50 years people will be quoting me.

What one food item do you consider to be your arch nemesis?

There’s not really any food that’s my arch nemesis. I enjoy it too much. Though, I enjoy sweets way more than I should. Cookies, cakes, pies, candy. Yum!

Biggest mistake you’ve made in your writing career and what you’ve learned from it.

So far the biggest mistake I’ve made is not love what I was writing. I wrote a story for an anthology and it was pretty bad. But I kept going with it because I just HAD to finish the story so I could be published. If I had taken my time on the story, even if it didn’t make it to the anthology, the story wouldn’t have sat in neglect for two years.

And finally, for THE most important question of all: what kinds of dachshunds are the BEST kinds of dachshunds?

There’s a kind of dachshund that isn’t the best?

It all started when Cole met Perry in a bar. Over three years they had some exciting adventures, and misadventures. The six stories included in this book are all about their journey from bar to wedding.

The Anniversary
Another cancellation of plans by his boyfriend forces Cole out to the neighborhood bar. Not long after arriving he meets Perry. Even as exciting as Perry is, he's unsure how the night will end.

The Fight
Cole and Perry are struggling to make time for each other and constantly at each other’s throats. A fight to the death will decide who is right or wrong in their arguments. But Cole really doesn't want to shoot Perry.

The Threesome
Deciding they want to spice up things in the bedroom, Perry wants to have a one-time threesome. Cole's nervous and doesn't want to ask any of their friends to join them. Perry finds the perfect solution.

The House
After two and a half years together, Cole and Perry want to buy a house. Once they find the perfect house, they get to spend their first morning together in their new space. Perry will have to help Cole decide which room is his favorite.

The Baby
Both Cole and Perry are exhausted. Taking care of a three month old is hard when she's up all night and is always hungry. If only they could find where they put the bottle warmer.

The Wedding
Cole is ready to make his commitment to Perry life-long. After careful planning, they created the perfect event. What could possibly go wrong? If only Cole didn't ask the same question.

Excerpt:

“Cole. I have a surprise for you. I want you to close your eyes and keep them closed until I tell you to open them.”

Cole looked up from his magazine at the doorway Perry’s voice drifted in from. He put the magazine on his nightstand and closed his eyes.

“They’re closed,” he called out. He wasn’t sure where Perry was in their apartment, but he sounded close.

Rustling and a strange squeaking noise reached his ears. Cole furrowed his brows trying to figure out what Perry was up to and what he was hearing.

“Okay. Go ahead and open your eyes.”

Cole popped his eyes open. He closed them and then re-opened them again. Nope, he still was seeing what was in front of him.

“Perry. Why is there--?”

Perry cut him off before Cole could finish his thought.

“So, we had talked about fantasies and things like that. I told you this was mine. So I’d like to introduce you to Freddy. Freddy, I’d like to introduce you to my boyfriend, Cole.”

Cole smiled at how nervous Perry was. His boyfriend was adorable trying to be brave with his ideas.

“Nice to meet you, um, Freddy. Perry, where did you meet Freddy?”

Perry had a small smile on his face that showed Cole he appreciated he was alright with what was happening.

“Online. I found Freddy on some website. Can’t remember the name now.”

Cole was stunned. His boyfriend didn’t go to those types of websites for any reason. Just meant Perry wanted to have the threesome and was willing to do it without asking one of their friends. Cole was so happy Perry had found a way to have his fantasy.
