*~*~About Gracie~*~*

Cate Ashwood adopted Gracie and Parker, her brother (both predate Cate's husband) 8 years ago from a shelter. They were too young so they were with a foster family until they turned 8 weeks. They'd been found without their mom in a forest.

...What is Gracie's one true passion in life?

Ironhearted (Hope Cove #3)
by Cate Ashwood

Haydn Prescott stood by and watched his friends fall in love, something he hopes never happens to him. It’s too much drama, thankyouverymuch. He just wants a hot guy to roll around with every once in a while. No muss, no fuss. Out for a night of dancing, he meets Trevor Ryan and the two are explosive together. The next morning, Haydn wakes up alone.

Trevor is gone and Haydn thinks he’s seen the last of him… until months later when Trevor walks into Haydn’s bakery in Hope Cove. Entanglements and complications ooze from Trevor, but Haydn can’t ignore him—Trevor won’t let him. Haydn always believed he wanted to be free and single forever, but now he’s torn: does he want to be with Trevor or should he play it safe and stick to what’s worked?

*~*~About Rembrandt ("Remmi")~*~*

Lex Chase says:

They say some creatures are just born bad.

Others are born evil.

And others are both cute and evil.

That is my cat Rembrandt.

We adopted Rembrandt (or Remmi as we call her) from the Humane Society during the height of kitten season. Or should I saw she played the system to stage her elaborate escape.

She had just been spayed and a little drowsy from her surgery. Mom had pointed her out as she was the only one in the kitten room sleeping. I had picked her up first, and she purred instantly. I put her down and considered other kittens. As I walked around the room, it was pointed out that she had followed me around the room by creeping up on me and curling up next to my foot. I picked her up, and again she purred, I put her down, she followed, I picked her up again, and she purred. After a few more of these cycles, I knew she was the one. At a mere nine weeks old, we had no idea such a cute little tuxedo girl could be nothing more than just another sweet baby.

We were wrong.

Once Remmi came into our home, executed her master plan. Her housemate, a calico girl named Pootie, was once the house alpha. Remmi strolled in and showed her what for. To this day, Remmi who is four years younger than Pootie is still the house bully.

We were not prepared for how smart she is. She’s a problem solver, and master manipulator. She knows when you’re talking about her. You talk to her, and you can see the gears turning in her head. We have to get puzzle toys specific for her, she solves them in a minute or less.

Despite her creepy intelligence, she’s sweet, loving, and and made of purrs. Except when she wants to sleep in my office chair and will fight me for it until I give up. As of such, I am sitting here on the couch. She is currently in my chair.

Sometimes I pray the Goblin King would take her away, and I wouldn’t even walk the Labyrinth for her. But I know the Goblin King would show up at my door and say “Take. This Demon. Back!

Klaus wants to know....

...Given the necessary supplies, would Remmi try to take over the world?

As the Spokesperson for our Magnificent Madam Dictator, it is her world, and she only permits us to exist upon it.

Because she doesn’t have thumbs and needs someone to open the food can.

Just wait. She’ll have thumbs soon.

And then she will be unstoppable.

And what book is Remmi bringing us today...?

Chasing Sunrise (Darkmore Saga #1)
by Lex Chase

On the Coastal Bend of Texas, a hidden kingdom called Darkmore lies in ruins, and King Sevon Maraté is trapped. Using Sevon as a mouthpiece and a scapegoat, Lord Dominic rules from the shadows. Sevon copes with the unrelenting abuse by dressing in women's finery and casting an image of graceful nobility. Born of royal verkolai blood and as beautiful as he is lethal, he possesses the ability to part the Veil separating his world from hundreds of others. His gift is his chance to escape, but Dominic refuses to relinquish his tool for power. Dominic forges an ambitious plan to invade the prosperous land of Priagust. Only a select few know the mythic kingdom of shifters exists. Sevon is out of options for his people’s survival, and cooperating with Dominic is his only chance.

On their foray into Priagust, Dominic's men kidnap and interrogate a shifter named Jack. Even under torture, Jack's loyalty to his kind never wavers. But as Jack’s knowledge about Darkmore’s king and its history unsettles Sevon, a curious bond begins to form. Despite Sevon’s mistrust, Jack is determined to tame Sevon’s wild heart and perhaps earn his freedom. As invasion looms, Sevon wonders if trusting Jack will lead him into another trap or if he should forget about chasing the sunrise and remain Dominic's compliant prisoner.
